Accentuations of the First Logic

From the property of Unconscious, it is not typical for the First Logic to pay attention to the process of forming their own and others’ opinions. Reliable knowledge that can be used in a finished form and does not require additional reflection is the priority for this function. As an introverted function, the 1L aims to form its own vision of the issue and, as a rule, does not seek to persuade others or control their thinking process. At the same time, the First Logic is a subjective function, and it is difficult to influence or persuade someone with this function – usually all conclusions are reached independently. However, this function itself unwittingly influences others because the low Logic has no choice but to agree with such a confident opinion.

Each person with 1L has one of these properties accentuated, that is, it manifests itself in behavior to a greater extent. It is important to remember that, despite the accentuation, to determine the type accurately, all three properties of the function must be identified:

Accentuation: unconsciousness

Such 1L seeks to understand something once and for all. Usually, this person is laconic when it comes to explanations, and discussions with them quickly become a “question-answer” format. If the 1L doesn’t know something, they will easily listen to the opinions of specialists. Arguing or just discussing, for example, a scientific concept with such a First Logic is difficult. They will either share what they know or respond with something like “I don’t even know”, “I’m not an expert in this”, “ask someone else”. It may seem that the 1L does not even consider the option of “thinking” at all, which can confuse them with the Fourth Logic. But the Fourth Logic is not particularly concerned with whether an opinion is correct or not. The most important thing is not to think too much. The First Logic takes a more serious approach: no matter how authoritative the source is, if the 1L understands the issue even a little, they will try to comprehend the knowledge received. It is important for them to be correct, so everything must be checked. Overall, with such an accentuation, the 1L is the most uncommunicative.

Accentuation: introversion

If this property is expressed brighter than all, 1L relies less on other people’s (even authoritative) opinions. To earn the unconditional trust of such a First Logic is not an easy task. It is necessary to explain where you learned the information or how you came to your conclusions, and the 1L itself will decide whether to believe it. The same can be observed with 3L, especially with the same accentuation. But there are also serious differences. 3L seeks and provokes dialogue in which it can be influenced by other people’s arguments. The Third Logic often doubts its own opinion, which leads to new discussions. Only the 1L can come to new conclusions by itself. When communicating with 1L, you need to prove your point of view so that the First Logic has material for reflection. If the 1L has come to the conclusion that it is worth believing, then new knowledge is considered “truth” and is not subject to doubt. As a result, this variation of 1L is the most thoughtful.

Accentuation: subjectivity

The accentuation on subjectivity is more noticeable when 1L expresses their position. Considering their opinion competent (if not true and the only correct one), 1L conveys it to others. It is difficult to accept such a 1L if someone disagrees with them or simply does not understand. It is not enough for them to just have an opinion, they want to “subjugate” others to it. 1L will select arguments and even argue if necessary. Due to the tendency to persuade others, 1L can be mistaken for 2L. But the Second Logic is really interested in discussions and other people’s opinions. They present arguments so skillfully and actively, as if it takes almost no effort for them. The First Logic is interested in the monopoly on opinions, which they want to get as quickly as possible. 1L also proves things in their own way: it is much more convenient for them to refer to authoritative sources, well-known facts, and practical observations than to create new questions in someone’s mind. Compared to other accentuations, such 1L is the most active.
