A pair of Carefree/Farsighted type traits is defined by filling the Tracking/ Insulating function blocks with irrational (Si, Se, Ni, Ne) information aspects. Thus, carefree types have tracking Si-Ne and insulating Se-Ni aspects, while farsighted types have tracking Se-Ni and insulating Si-Ne aspects.
As mentioned in the previous article, Tracking/Insulating properties divides our functions into communicative and isolated. Combined with complementary pairs of irrational aspects, these properties provide two priorities in information perception, determining how types communicate with the world: carefree – using information about ideas and sensations they provoke, while farsighted – using information about the influences and changes they cause.
Therefore, when interacting with the world, the carefree need to track all their sensations and cover as many possible event options as possible, while the farsighted strive to track changes around them and cover all the effects on them. Carefree attention can be described as more fragmented: they are either in the present moment or represent what it could be, while farsighted attention is more continuous, aimed at constantly being in the present moment and assessing the risks of its change.
When determining these traits, it is recommended to pay attention to the sense of security that we experience when we are around someone – it is important that they match those of two interacting people. If they don’t, we will always feel that the other person is overly demanding of things that are not as significant as we think they are, and vice versa – indifferent to what is important for our own comfort.
Carefree types include Don Quixote, Dumas, Hamlet, Maxim Gorky, Jack London, Dreiser, Huxley and Gabin.
Farsighted types include Hugo, Robespierre, Zhukov, Yesenin, Napoleon, Balzac, Stierlitz and Dostoevsky.
